Paris Saint-Germain are set to lose another highly rated academy defender, with Emmanuel Mbemba now expected to join AS Monaco.
According to L’Equipe, the 18-year-old left-footed centre-back is close to choosing Monaco after previously rejecting PSG’s offer of a first professional contract. Get French Football News also reports that Arsenal had tracked the France youth international, but Monaco are now positioned to win the race.

Luis Campos Faces Another PSG Pathway Test
Mbemba’s case matters because it is not an isolated academy frustration. The same L’Equipe report notes that, among PSG’s 2008-born players offered professional terms, only Adam Ayari has accepted so far, with other prospects also moving away from Paris.
For Luis Campos and Luis Enrique, the warning is clear. PSG can recruit aggressively at first-team level, but retaining elite youth prospects still depends on showing a believable route beyond the under-19s.
