How Many Champions Leagues Have PSG Won? The Full European Record

Short answer: two. Paris Saint-Germain have won the Champions League twice — in 2024/25 and again in 2025/26 — which makes them the reigning back-to-back holders as they begin the 2026/27 campaign. It is a two-line answer to a question that the club spent decades being unable to answer at all, so it is worth going through the whole European story properly: the near-misses, the trophy nobody remembers, and what a third straight title would actually mean.

How many Champions Leagues have PSG won? The full record

PSG have lifted Europe’s biggest trophy twice:

  • 2024/25 — the first Champions League in the club’s history.
  • 2025/26 — retained it, beating Arsenal in the final to become back-to-back winners.

Both were won under Luis Enrique, appointed in July 2023, and both with Marquinhos as captain. That is the entire honour roll in the competition, and it is why the two stars now sitting above the badge matter so much to supporters: they are not decoration, they are the answer to a question rival fans spent a decade asking at the Parc.

The years of getting close

Before 2025, Paris had built a reputation as European football’s most expensive nearly-men. The high-water mark of the pre-Qatari era came in 1994/95, when a side featuring George Weah, Rai and David Ginola reached the Champions League semi-finals before going out to AC Milan. For a long time that remained the club’s deepest run in the competition.

Then came the modern spending era, and with it a series of quarter-final and semi-final exits that became a genre of their own. The closest call was 2019/20, when PSG reached their first Champions League final in Lisbon and lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich, undone by a Kingsley Coman header — a goal scored, with the sort of symmetry football specialises in, by a player who came through the PSG academy.

Those seasons are the necessary context for what happened in 2025. The first title was not the arrival of a new club; it was the end of a very long wait.

The European trophy PSG had already won

One detail gets lost in the “PSG had never won anything in Europe” framing that dominated the 2010s: they had. Paris won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup in 1995/96, beating Rapid Vienna 1-0 in the final in Brussels. It sat in the cabinet as the club’s only major European trophy for almost thirty years, and it was very nearly two: PSG returned to the Cup Winners’ Cup final the following year, in 1997, and lost 1-0 to Barcelona.

So the honest version of the club’s European history is not “nothing, then everything”. It is a continental trophy in the mid-nineties, two decades of frustration, and then two European Cups in two years.

Why the second one mattered more than the first

Winning the Champions League once can be filed under a good season and a kind bracket. Retaining it cannot. No club had gone back-to-back in the competition since Real Madrid’s run under Zinedine Zidane, and Paris did it with a squad Luis Enrique had already begun to rebuild around younger players — Désiré Doué collected two winners’ medals before his 22nd birthday.

The second title also changed the club’s status in a purely practical way. PSG went into the 2026 summer as holders rather than challengers, won the 2026 UEFA Super Cup by beating Aston Villa 2-1, and now enter the league phase seeded and expected. Our full PSG squad guide for 2026/27 sets out the group being asked to keep it going.

Can PSG win a third in a row?

A three-peat would put Paris somewhere only Zidane’s Real Madrid have been in the modern era, and it would be achieved in a format specifically redesigned to make sustained dominance harder. The 36-team league phase gives every club eight different opponents rather than three, with only the top eight going straight into the last 16.

The draw has not been generous. According to the full draw reported by Get French Football News, the holders travel to Manchester City and host Barcelona — Luis Enrique’s former club — among their eight fixtures. We have the complete list of PSG’s Champions League opponents if you want the rest.

There is also the small matter of everything else on the calendar. Paris are defending a Ligue 1 title, have a FIFA Intercontinental Cup final scheduled for 16 December 2026, and opened the domestic season with a 2-2 draw away at Rennes. The squad has been assembled on the assumption that chasing a third European Cup means rotating hard from August onwards rather than waiting until April.

PSG’s European honours, at a glance

  • UEFA Champions League: 2 — 2024/25, 2025/26
  • UEFA Super Cup: 2026
  • UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup: 1995/96
  • Champions League final defeats: 2019/20, against Bayern Munich
  • Cup Winners’ Cup final defeats: 1996/97, against Barcelona

Two European Cups, back to back, and a third on the table from September. For a club whose European identity was defined for years by what it had not done, that is a fairly complete reversal — and the question at the Parc has quietly changed from whether Paris can win the Champions League to whether anyone can stop them winning it again.
