Fabrizio Romano has confirmed PSG transfer news that shuts the door on one of Europe’s biggest clubs — and strengthens Luis Campos’ hand in an ongoing negotiation.
PSG’s summer has been a study in controlled aggression. Fresh from the Ligue 1 and Champions League double, the club have moved early on their targets, with an agreement already in place for Maghnes Akliouche and the attack being reshaped around departures and arrivals.
One of those files has dragged, though. RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has been a PSG target for weeks, and Leipzig ordered him back for pre-season as the clubs failed to close the gap on a fee — a stand-off that invited rivals to circle.

Romano reveals the rival PSG just saw off
According to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, Arsenal tested the water on Diomande after losing Morgan Rogers to Chelsea — and ran straight into PSG’s agreement with the player. “Arsenal over the last few days made some checks with the agents of Yan Diomande from Red Bull Leipzig to understand if there was still a chance to enter the deal,” Romano said. “But don’t forget Diomande has an agreement on personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, and Paris Saint-Germain are in negotiations with Leipzig.”
Romano also touched on the other side of PSG’s attacking ledger. On Bradley Barcola, he reported Arsenal “have not made any checks” and that the conversation is “still cold” — while “Liverpool remain very attentive to the situation, Liverpool remain very keen on Barcola”, with a move depending on the fee, “because PSG would ask for very important money.”
What does this mean for the Diomande deal?
For PSG fans, this is the strongest signal yet that the Diomande file ends in Paris. A rival of Arsenal’s stature checking and immediately backing off — because personal terms are locked — is precisely the leverage Campos wants while haggling with Leipzig over the fee. Players with signed-off terms rarely reopen them for a late bidder, and Romano’s framing gives no hint Diomande is wavering.
The verdict: the pressure now sits on Leipzig. With their player’s camp committed to Paris and pre-season ticking, holding out for a premium gets harder by the week.
