Diogo Costa Gives PSG A Clear €60m Transfer Decision

Paris Saint-Germain have been given a clean transfer line on Diogo Costa as the club’s goalkeeper planning moves into a sharper summer phase.

According to reports relaying O Jogo, FC Porto president Andre Villas-Boas is determined to keep the Portugal international and does not intend to negotiate below the goalkeeper’s release clause.

That matters for PSG because L’Equipe has placed Costa among the names around Luis Campos’ post-Champions League market work, with the Paris hierarchy assessing how to strengthen without bloating Luis Enrique’s squad.

Porto Clause Forces PSG Transfer Discipline

Porto’s position is reinforced by Costa’s contract. The Portuguese club confirmed in December that the 26-year-old had renewed until 2030, with a €60 million release clause inserted into the deal.

For PSG, the question is no longer whether Costa fits the elite profile. He is an established international, a Porto captain and a goalkeeper with the distribution range Enrique values. The harder issue is allocation.

Paris already have major moving pieces in attack and midfield, including the need to resolve outgoing value around players such as Randal Kolo Muani. A €60m goalkeeper pursuit would therefore demand conviction, not opportunism.

If Campos advances, Porto’s message is blunt: Costa is available only at a premium. That clarity may suit PSG. It turns a rumour into a decision.
