Paris Saint-Germain’s move for Yan Diomande has stalled again, with RB Leipzig instructing the winger to report back for pre-season training on 22 July regardless of the Ligue 1 champions’ interest. The instruction lands even though Diomande has already agreed personal terms in Paris, leaving PSG to wait out a valuation gap of tens of millions of euros.
According to Bild, Leipzig’s public stance that the 19-year-old is not for sale has not softened, while L’Équipe reports PSG remain in constant contact with the Bundesliga club as the two sides try to close the gap. The Ivory Coast international first emerged as a priority target after The Athletic reported he favoured a move to the French capital over a rival offer from Liverpool.
Liverpool Still Circling As PSG Refuse To Meet Leipzig’s Valuation
Leipzig are privately said to want around €130m for Diomande, a figure PSG consider too high given the outlay already committed elsewhere this summer, including the business that followed Lee Kang-in’s departure. That has left the door ajar for Liverpool, who are continuing to monitor the situation, though nothing suggests the Anfield club have made a concrete move.
Diomande’s now-former Leganés teammate Seydouba Cissé added some colour to the saga this week, telling AS the winger is leaving the transfer talk to his agent while he takes his summer break. Leipzig’s 22 July recall date effectively sets a soft deadline: if PSG have not moved by then, Diomande begins pre-season in Germany with the saga still unresolved, a scenario the club will want to avoid after the summer business already logged in our transfer window Talking Points hub.
