Paris Saint-Germain have placed AS Monaco striker Folarin Balogun on their summer shortlist as the club prepares for life after Goncalo Ramos.
According to a fresh Foot Mercato report, Luis Campos and the PSG hierarchy are studying Balogun as a central striker option after Ramos’ move to AC Milan. The same report stresses that no formal contact has yet been made with Monaco, but the American international is described as a profile appreciated internally in Paris.
That distinction matters. This is not a completed pursuit, but it is a clear sign that PSG are widening their No. 9 search while also working on attacking targets such as Yan Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche.
Balogun Profile Fits PSG’s Ramos Gap
Balogun’s appeal is obvious. Foot Mercato credits him with 19 goals in 43 appearances for Monaco last season, while his World Cup form with the United States has sharpened the market around him.
The 24-year-old has already hurt PSG directly, with GOAL reporting that he scored twice against Paris in February’s Champions League knockout tie. That makes him more than a database name for Luis Enrique: he is a Ligue 1-proven forward with speed, vertical running and a clear penalty-box edge.
ReadPSG has already covered the wider Ramos exit picture. Balogun now gives PSG a sharper domestic route, though Monaco’s need to raise funds will not stop Premier League interest from driving the price.
