Mary Earps will leave Paris Saint-Germain and join London City Lionesses on 1 July after agreeing a two-year contract with the Women’s Super League club.
The 33-year-old former England goalkeeper is set to return to English football when her PSG contract expires, ending a two-year spell in France after her 2024 move from Manchester United.
London City confirmed the deal on Friday, describing Earps as an icon of the women’s game and framing the signing as another statement of ambition before the 2026/27 WSL campaign.
PSG Exit Gives Earps A Direct WSL Reset
Earps’ move matters for PSG because it removes one of the biggest names from their women’s squad at a time when the club are trying to keep pace domestically and in Europe. For London City, it is a high-profile free-transfer arrival with immediate dressing-room authority and commercial pull.
The goalkeeper said she still has plenty to give and is looking forward to learning the club’s style and culture, according to London City’s official announcement.
Earps’ PSG chapter therefore ends with a clear next step rather than uncertainty. The story now shifts to whether London City can turn that marquee signing into a serious climb up the WSL table, while PSG must move quickly to replace a proven senior goalkeeper before the new campaign.
