Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique hailed Renato Marin’s performance between the goal post in the 1-0 Ligue 1 win over Brest on Sunday.
The Italian teenager was making his second consecutive league start in place of Matvey Safonov, who was rested after the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich last week.
Marin made two saves which were crucial in securing the three points for PSG. Enrique was still critical about some of his displays and believes he still has a lot to improve on.
“My outbursts at Renato during the match? I can understand that it’s difficult for the players to have a coach like me,” the Spaniard said.
“I always want more. I can understand that it’s not easy for the players to have such an impressive coach. I’m happy. I’m aware that I have very high-level players.
“Renato Marin made some very high-level saves. He’s very young. He can still improve. He was courageous. He did a very good job.”
Doue reaches centenary milestone
Meanwhile, Desire Doue made his 100th appearance for PSG in the game against Brest. He capped it off by scoring the all important goal, which got him excited.
“It’s arrived very quickly, but I’m delighted to celebrate my 100th match for Paris here,” he said.
“We still have 2 games to go in Ligue 1, but to win our last game at the Parc des Princes is great.
“It’s never easy. Every opposition team has good players and they always give 200% when they come here.”
The 20-year-old Frenchman has scored 29 goals and provided 21 assists since he joined PSG from Rennes in 2024.
