16:10 — State of play: Digne closing in, Kolo Muani standoff drags on, Bouaddi race hots up
PSG’s summer is picking up pace. A reported agreement is in place to bring Lucas Digne back from Aston Villa as back-up to Nuno Mendes, while Randal Kolo Muani remains stuck in a fee stand-off with Juventus over his exit. Luis Campos is also weighing up the next striker move after Goncalo Ramos’ exit to AC Milan, with Eli Junior Kroupi and Folarin Balogun both having been assessed as options, though reports suggest PSG’s interest in Kroupi has since cooled.
Elsewhere, Manchester City are pushing hard for Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi, with PSG still believed to see themselves as contenders. Bradley Barcola’s contract extension talks remain on ice until after the World Cup, and PSG have reportedly stepped back from the chase for Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, who has made clear he prefers a move to Barcelona.
13:35 — PSG close in on Lucas Digne return from Aston Villa
PSG have reportedly agreed a move to bring Lucas Digne back to Paris from Aston Villa, with ESPN and Goal.com both reporting the France left-back has struck a personal agreement on a three-year deal. RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported PSG plan to trigger a release clause worth less than 10m euros once Digne’s World Cup run with France ends, and Fabrizio Romano has given the move his ‘here we go’ stamp.
Digne, who came through PSG’s academy and had a first spell at the club between 2013 and 2016, would provide cover for Nuno Mendes at left-back. Nothing has been confirmed by either club yet, and completion of any deal is expected only once the World Cup concludes.
10:50 — Carnevali: Juventus will find Kolo Muani deal ‘or look elsewhere’
Juventus chief executive Giovanni Carnevali addressed the Randal Kolo Muani saga on Monday, saying: “The demands are too high, or we’ll find an agreement, otherwise we’ll look for someone else.” Reports in Italy put PSG’s asking price above 45m euros, with Juventus so far only offering around 38m.
Kolo Muani, who returned to Paris after a disappointing loan at Tottenham, is not part of Luis Enrique’s plans and his exit before deadline day is considered all but certain. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports the two clubs have already agreed the structure of a loan-with-option deal, with several other English and German clubs also said to be monitoring the situation.
