Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Warren Zaire-Emery will be absent from Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 tie at home to Brest on Sunday.
The trio all featured in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg clash with Bayern, which saw them progress 6-5 on aggregate, and make it back-to-back final appearances.
The latest medical update from the club states that Pacho and Mendes suffered knocks to their right thighs, while Zaire-Emery has a back problem, and will all undergo treatment in the coming days.
Quentin Ndjantou, Achraf Hakimi and Lucas Chevalier remain sidelined and continue with their treatment. Hakimi will be hopeful to be fit in time for the Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest on May 30.
Adressing the shape of his squad ahead of the game with Brest, head coach Luis Enrique said: “We will see how things go, but we will proceed as usual. We will pay attention to the players’ fitness levels, but to play a Champions League final, you need competitive minutes.
“And we will take care of the playing time each player needs in order to reach the optimal level of freshness for the final.”
Possible rest for Safonov
According to RMC Sport, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov has been nursing a persistent calf pain since the Champions League semi final first leg against Bayern.
The Russian was rested for the game against Lorient last week, with Renato Marin making his league debut. He had only participated in one full training session before Wednesday and might once again be rested against Brest, giving Marin another appearance between the sticks.
