With just two matchdays remaining before the conclusion of the 2025–26 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain could well be crowned champions as early as next week.

Although Luis Enrique’s men were unable to beat FC Lorient on Saturday (2-2), their main rivals, RC Lens, were held to a draw by OGC Nice (1-1). This result leaves the gap between PSG and their nearest rivals at six points, with both teams having three matches remaining, including a head-to-head clash – their postponed fixture from Matchday 29.

Two scenarios could see PSG clinch the title on Sunday

But Ousmane Dembélé’s teammates could well take to the pitch at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on 13th May already crowned with the French championship title. For this to happen, the Parisians would need to beat Stade Brestois next Sunday and hope that Lens slip up against FC Nantes, who are fighting for survival.

A draw for PSG against the Bretons, combined with a defeat for the Sang et Or at the hands of the Canaries, could also be enough, given that the goal difference between the two league leaders (+43 and +28) favours the Rouge et Bleu.
