PSG All-Time Top Scorers: The Full Top 10

The PSG all-time top scorers list has one name at the top of it, and it is not especially close. Kylian Mbappé scored 256 goals for Paris Saint-Germain between 2017 and 2024, a club record that took him past Edinson Cavani in February 2024 and that nobody in the current squad is realistically going to threaten this decade. Here is the full top ten, how it was built, and who has a chance of climbing it.

PSG all-time top scorers: the top 10

All figures are goals in all competitions for the senior men’s side:

  • 1. Kylian Mbappé — 256 (2017–2024)
  • 2. Edinson Cavani — 200 (2013–2020)
  • 3. Zlatan Ibrahimović — 156 (2012–2016)
  • 4. Neymar — 118 (2017–2023)
  • 5. Pauleta — 109 (2003–2008)
  • 6. Dominique Rocheteau — 100 (1980–1987)
  • 7. Mustapha Dahleb — 98 (1974–1984)
  • 8. Safet Sušić — 96 (1982–1991)
  • 9. François M’Pélé — 95 (1974–1979)
  • 10. Ángel Di María — 92 (2015–2022)

What jumps out is the split. Six of the ten arrived after the 2011 takeover; four of them belong to a completely different Paris, one that was fighting for cup runs rather than European Cups. The list is essentially two clubs stacked on top of each other.

Kylian Mbappé: the record that will stand a while

Mbappé joined from Monaco in 2017 and left for Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 with 256 goals in a shade over 300 appearances. He is the club’s record scorer, its record scorer in Ligue 1, and its record scorer in the Champions League, and he did all of it before turning 26.

The reason the record looks unassailable is not the total so much as the rate. Mbappé averaged comfortably better than a goal every other game across seven seasons, in a side built to feed him, and still needed until his final campaign to get there. Any successor would need roughly five seasons at 40-plus goals a year, and modern squad rotation — the sort Luis Enrique now uses across a deep 2026/27 squad — is designed specifically to stop one forward absorbing that many minutes.

Cavani and Ibrahimović: the pair who rebuilt the list

For a long time the record belonged to Cavani, who reached exactly 200 across seven seasons after arriving from Napoli in 2013. He spent much of his first two years shunted to the left wing to accommodate Ibrahimović, which makes the total more impressive rather than less, and he broke Ibrahimović’s club record in January 2018.

Ibrahimović himself sits third on 156 in only 180 appearances, the best strike rate anywhere near the top of this list. He arrived in 2012 when Paris were still convincing elite players that the project was serious, and left in 2016 having more or less proved the point on his own.

Neymar, fourth on 118, is the outlier: the most expensive footballer in history when he signed, six seasons in Paris, and a goal record that is genuinely excellent when he played and heavily interrupted when he did not.

Before the money: Pauleta, Rocheteau, Dahleb and Sušić

The bottom half of the top ten is the part worth knowing if you want to sound like you have followed this club for longer than a decade.

Pauleta arrived from Bordeaux in 2003 and scored 109 goals in five seasons for teams that were, to put it kindly, inconsistent — he held the club record until Ibrahimović took it. Dominique Rocheteau, the “Green Angel”, got to 100 in the 1980s. Mustapha Dahleb was the first great Paris forward, 98 goals across a decade from 1974, and Safet Sušić is arguably the finest footballer on the entire list, a playmaker who spent nine years at the Parc and is still spoken about there in reverent terms.

None of those four ever played a Champions League knockout tie for Paris. They scored their goals for a club whose ceiling, at the time, was a domestic cup run and a good night in Europe.

Can anyone in the current squad climb the PSG all-time top scorers list?

Honestly: not to the top. But the lower reaches of the top ten are not out of reach for someone who stays.

Ousmane Dembélé is the obvious candidate, with the profile, the goal involvement and probably several more seasons at this level ahead of him. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has time on his side. Bradley Barcola’s own trajectory has been complicated by sustained Liverpool interest this summer, as we covered when a record deal was agreed for the winger, and Désiré Doué is young enough that a decade in Paris would put him in genuine contention.

The structural problem is the one described above. Luis Enrique’s Paris spreads goals across a front line rather than funnelling them through a single number nine — Ferran Torres inherited that shirt from Barcelona this summer — and a squad chasing a third consecutive Champions League alongside a Ligue 1 defence and a December Intercontinental Cup final is going to rotate hard. That is excellent for trophies and terrible for individual records.

The short version

Mbappé 256, Cavani 200, Ibrahimović 156. Those three account for more than 600 goals between them and occupy the podium by a distance. Below them sits a list that runs all the way back to the club’s founding generation in the 1970s, and a useful reminder that Paris Saint-Germain existed, and had heroes, long before the trophy cabinet filled up.

Club records and squad histories are maintained on Paris Saint-Germain’s official site, and league-by-league appearance data is published by Ligue 1.
