Paris Saint-Germain have gone back to Ajax with a substantially increased bid for Mika Godts, according to Goal, which reports that the amount Amsterdam would accept for the winger has now become clear. Yahoo Sports adds that negotiations between the clubs are advancing — the strongest sign yet that a summer-long pursuit is finally moving Paris’s way.
It marks a clear change of tone from Amsterdam. When Paris lodged a formal offer earlier this month — put at around €40m by Yahoo Sports — Ajax refused even to open negotiations. Paris returned within days with a much-improved bid, and the Dutch club’s willingness to talk suggests that persistence is paying off. Neither club has confirmed any figures, and nothing is agreed, so the numbers remain reported rather than official.
Why PSG keep pushing for Mika Godts
A direct, left-sided forward, Godts has emerged as one of the most coveted young wingers in the Dutch top flight, and Luis Enrique’s recruitment team have identified him as the pace and depth their flanks need — all the more pressing given Liverpool’s continuing interest in Bradley Barcola. Landing the Belgian would give the back-to-back Champions League winners another exciting forward as they defend their crowns.
With the window in its final weeks, the next steps could come quickly. If Ajax’s price really is now on the table, Les Parisiens finally know what it will take to bring Mika Godts to the Parc.
