Ajax Reject PSG’s Mika Godts Bid and Refuse to Negotiate
Ajax have rejected Paris Saint-Germain’s bid for winger Mika Godts and are refusing to open negotiations, according to reports on Tuesday — a firm rebuff that stalls one of Les Parisiens’ priority summer targets. The Dutch club’s hard line leaves Luis Enrique’s side needing a fresh approach if they are to prise the highly-rated forward away from Amsterdam before the window shuts.
The knockback comes barely a day after Paris turned a summer-long pursuit into a concrete offer, having lodged a formal bid for the Ajax winger. Yahoo Sports reported that PSG tabled a package worth around €40m, but Ajax’s answer has been unequivocal. Italian outlet Football Italia says the Dutch side are already lining up Napoli’s Noa Lang as a possible replacement should Godts eventually depart — a sign the saga is far from dead even as Ajax publicly shut the door.
What the Mika Godts rejection means for PSG
As Goal.com reported, Ajax have not only knocked back the offer but declined to enter talks at all, holding firm on their valuation. For Paris, that points to a longer, costlier negotiation — or a pivot to alternatives — with the interest tied to lingering uncertainty over Bradley Barcola, who is being courted by Liverpool. Luis Enrique wants added depth and pace on the flanks to defend PSG’s back-to-back Champions League crown.
The next move rests with PSG’s recruitment staff: return with an improved offer or look elsewhere. With Barcola’s future unresolved and the new season fast approaching, Les Parisiens have little time to force Ajax’s hand at the Parc des Princes.
