Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique wants his team to show why they are champions when they conclude their Ligue 1 campaign at neighbours Paris FC.
PSG clinched a 14th league crown and third in a row under Enrique after defeating RC Lens 2-0 away from home in midweek.
Enrique, speaking ahead of the game, is delighted to have the season end with a derby.
“It’s the last match for us. We’re champions, but our goal is to win the game. It’s a derby and we have to live up to our status as French champions,” he said.
“We’re happy to play this last game almost at home, in the sense that we don’t have a real trip to make.
“The close proximity of the two stadiums makes it very special. Paris FC deserve to stay up, they’re a good team. We want to perform and play with ambition.”
The Spaniard added: “Sunday’s match will be a real test to show what we want to build as a team.
“There’s no one’s individual interests above those of the team. We all work to come into the game against PFC and the Champions League final in the best conditions.”
PSG’s title run
Looking back at how the Ligue 1 season unfolded, Enrique described it as “special” owing to how fierce Lens were in the title race.
“It was a special season, we have said it regularly. I’m very happy with the attitude that we have shown, the resilience, which is a word I like.
“Lens have had a great season too, and that made things difficult for us. It’s great to win in the end.”
