Arsenal Urged to Hijack Liverpool in Barcola Transfer Race
Bradley Barcola’s summer just got more complicated. Arsenal have been urged to gatecrash Liverpool’s pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain winger, throwing a fresh twist into a Barcola transfer saga that has rumbled on for much of the window.
Why the Barcola transfer race is heating up
Liverpool have led the chase, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that Paris could sanction a sale worth around £80m and hinting personal terms have been discussed. Now the London Evening Standard says Arsenal have been encouraged to hijack the move, setting up a potential Premier League tug-of-war for the France international.
For Les Parisiens, a bidding war is no bad thing. Luis Enrique’s side are richly stocked in attack after another trophy-laden campaign, and Paris have not been idle: reports say they have already agreed a move in principle for Ajax’s Mika Godts to reinforce the flanks should Barcola leave the Parc des Princes.
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano is among those reporting that the situation is moving, though no fee between the clubs has been confirmed and PSG have made no official comment.
With Arsenal circling and Liverpool pressing, the coming days could decide whether Barcola stays at the Parc des Princes or swaps Ligue 1 for the Premier League. ReadPSG will stay across every twist.
