Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called his Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Luis Enrique an inspiration as the two meet in the UEFA Champions League final on Saturday.
Arteta led Arsenal to the Gunners to their first final appearance in 20 years while Enrique has taken PSG to back-to-back finals.
The latter is considered the best coach in the world at the moment after leading PSG to a historic treble last season, and Arteta sees him as a strong reference.
“He’s always been a reference since he was a player, because he was a very special player,” he said.
“Then when he became a coach, if you look at his journey when he left Spain and he went abroad and when he came back and what he’s done, in particular what he’s done with this PSG club and team, you can see his fingerprints all over it.
“The identity, the mentality, the way the players behave, the way they play. So he’s been an inspiration and we’ll be clashing with each other on that touchline.”
PSG are the favourites
Arteta went to acknowledge that the Parisians are favourites for the final but is ready to take the title from them.
“They are defending the trophy, so they were the last ones to have the right to lift that trophy,” he added.
“They are actually the champions and we are here to take that away from them.”
