Aston Villa’s valuation of Morgan Rogers has turned Paris Saint-Germain’s attacking search into a brutal market test.
According to The Guardian, Rogers has been identified as a major summer target in England and could cost up to GBP100 million. Fresh reports have since pushed Villa’s stance even higher, with the Midlands club understood to be looking for a British-record level fee to deter bidders.
That matters for PSG because Sky Sports previously listed the French champions among the clubs monitoring Rogers, whose power-carrying, final-third timing and ability to operate from the left or through central zones fit the Luis Enrique profile.
PSG Face A Premier League Price Wall
The problem is no longer talent identification. It is value discipline.
PSG already have Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele across the attacking line. If Randal Kolo Muani’s expected exit creates further room in the budget, Paris still have to decide whether Rogers is worth entering a Premier League auction when they have been trying to protect a younger, more coherent wage structure.
Read PSG has already noted how the Kolo Muani situation could hand PSG clearer exit control, but Rogers is a different category of deal: expensive, English-market driven and likely to demand immediate starter-level planning.
For now, the smarter PSG play may be patience. Rogers is exactly the type of explosive multi-role forward Paris admire, but Villa’s stance means admiration alone is nowhere near enough.
