San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama has thrown his support for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the UEFA Champions League final with Arsenal.
PSG made it back-to-back final appearances after edging German giants Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate. They will now face the Gunners in a rematch of last season’s semi-finals which the French side won 3-1 on aggregate.
Wembanyama, who was born in the western suburbs of Paris, did not hide his support for PSG.
“Who am I going to support? PSG, of course,” the 22-year-old said after Spurs’ 115-108 win over Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA playoffs.
He went on to throw a little dig at Arsenal who’s semi-final with Atletico Madrid only produced three goals across two legs compared to the 11 goals between PSG and Bayern Munich.
“At least with PSG you know the match is going to be fun. Because I know that’s not the case with Arsenal,” he added.
Focus on Ligue 1
With the Champions League still a fortnight away, PSG will turn their attention to the French top flight.
They are currently three points ahead of RC Lens on the tabkd, and will need to be defeat Brest at the Parc des Princes on Sunday to be on the cusp of a winning a record-extending 13th league crown.
