Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique along with six of his players have been nominated for the 2026 National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) Awards.
Enrique, who is the current recipient of the Best Coach award, is on the cusp of winning a third consecutive Ligue 1 title, but will be up against RC Lens coach Pierre Sage, Paulo Fonseca of Olympique Lyon, Bruno Genesuo of Lille, Olivier Pantaloni of Lorient.
For the Men’s Best Player, award, the trio of Ousmane Dembele, who is the current holder, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha, have been nominated, and they will go up against RC Lens’ Florian Thauvin and Olympique Marseille’s Mason Greenwood.
For the best Young player award, Desire Doue, the current holder, Joao Neves and Warren Zaire-Emery, have been nominated alongside Ayyoub Bouaddi of Lille and Valentin Barco of Strasbourg.
This year’s UNFP Awards will be the 34th edition and will take place at Palais Brongniart on Monday, May 11, ahead of the final weekend of Ligue 1 fixtures.
PSG dominate UNFP Awards
The Parisians have a strong print on the award, with players from other clubs hardly posing a challenge.
PSG players have won the Men’s award each year since 2016, with Kylian Mbappe, now at Real Madrid, winning five in a row.
The last three young player awards have gone to Nuno Mendes, Zaire-Emery and Doue respectively.
The Best Manager however paints a different picture with Enrique being the first PSG manager to claim it since Unai Emery did in 2018, with Christophe Galtier (twice), Genesio, Franck Haise and Roy claiming it in between.
