Mathis Jangeal Set To Leave PSG For Famalicao After Contract Decision

Mathis Jangeal is reportedly set to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Portuguese side Famalicao in the coming days. The 17-year-old attacker has come through the PSG academy but is now expected to continue his development away from the French champions after a contract decision that will sting inside the club’s youth pathway.

Jangeal had been attracting interest from Germany, with Hamburg, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt all named in the race, but Famalicao have moved into pole position. Le Parisien reports that an agreement has been found with Famalicao, where the teenager is expected to sign shortly.

PSG Face Another Academy Exit

The timing matters because Jangeal has just completed a standout youth season. He was part of PSG’s run to the Youth League semi-finals and helped deliver a domestic youth double, including a decisive role in the Coupe Gambardella final.

He has also already had a taste of Luis Enrique’s senior squad, making two first-team appearances this season against Auxerre in Ligue 1 and Fontenay in the Coupe de France.

For PSG, the issue is not just losing one prospect. It is the latest example of a highly rated academy player looking for a clearer route into senior football elsewhere. Famalicao’s younger squad profile and the chance to enter the first-team group quickly appear to have shaped the decision.
