South Korean star Lee Kang-in has been linked been with a summer exit from Paris Saint-Germain with Atletico Madrid reportedly leading in his pursuit.
Starnews Korea reports that Lee Kang-in is unhappy with his lack of playing time in the French capital and he is open to exploring options for improved game time.
The 25-year-old started 15 Ligue 1 matches this season, with seven substitute appearances and he has a contribution of two goals and three assists to his name.
In the UEFA Champions League, Kang-in has been limited to substitute appearances with all of his 10 appearances so far coming from the bench.
The former Mallorca forward has now emerged as Atletico Madrid’s target to replace Antoine Griezmann following the Frenchman’s imminent move to American club Orlando City.
Atletico are reported to be interested in Kang-in’s profile and they are fascinated by his familiarity with Spanish football, having previously played for Valencia and Mallorca in La Liga before moving to France.
With two more years left in his contract, the South Korea international who joined PSG in 2023, is reportedly valued at around €50 million by PSG leaders.
Ruiz, Beraldo & Enrique closing in on new contracts
In another report by RMC Sport, the quartet of Fabian Ruiz, Lucas Beraldo, Willian Pacho and Joao Neves are close to signing their contract extension at the club.
Ruiz is set to sign a new one-year deal with the option of an additional year which will keep him at the club until at least 2028 while Pacho and Neves, currently under contract till 2029, are set to sign a new five-year deal.
For Beraldo, talks are ongoing to extend his initial contract that will expire in 2028 by two years, until at least 2030.
As a result of PSG’s dominant and consistent performances in the Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League, the club management have opened discussions with manager Luis Enrique to hand him a lucrative deal that comes with pay raise and a contract that will last until 2030.
