Arsenal defender William Saliba has sent a warning to Paris Saint-Germain superstar Ousmane Dembele ahead of the UEFA Champions final.
The Gunners reached their first final in 20 years after beating Atletico Madrid in the semi-finals while PSG are in back-to-back finals after edging past Bayern Munich in the last four.
Dembele has been a key cog for the Parisians this season with 30 competitive goal involvements in 39 games.
He was also instrumental in PSG winning a historic treble last term, scoring eight goals and providing six assists in the Champions League, some which came in the 3-1 aggregate semi-final win over the Gunners.
Saliba is however prepared to stop his compatriot’s threat along with his defensive partner Gabriel Magalhaes.
“One of us two [Gabriel or Saliba] will have to go after him. Sometimes it will be me, sometimes him,” he said.
“We know it’s always a pain to play against Ousmane, he’s the Ballon d’Or winner. He’s an extraordinary player, it’s going to be tough to play against him, but it’s also going to be tough to play against us.
“It will be a good match but we’ll have to be very focused, and we’re going to try to block everything.”
Rock solid partnership
Saliba and Gabriel have played 11 times each in the Champions League this season, keeping eight clean sheets.
Overall, both players have played a combined 99 times in all competitions this term.
