When asked in a poll launched on the programme El Larguero on Spanish broadcaster Cadena SER to name their dream signing to bolster Real Madrid’s midfield, fans of the Casa Blanca chose Vitinha as their top pick.
Backed by 34% of voters, the Paris Saint-Germain number 17 received more than double the votes cast for his main rival, Rodri, who garnered just 16%. And while 72% of Madrid fans would not be opposed to the arrival of the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, the gap between the two players remains significant.
Club and national team teammate of Vitinha, João Neves completes a podium that also features Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández and Arsenal’s Martín Zubimendi, with all three players accounting for 10% of the votes.
Under contract with PSG until 2029, Vitinha recently stated that leaving the French capital club would be “silly”, whilst insisting he feels “at home in Paris”, where he has established himself as an undisputed first-team regular under Luis Enrique.
