‘Kvaratskhelia loves Chelsea’ – Twitter reacts to PSG win

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the undisputed man of the moment after his heroic performance in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 defeat of Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Kvaratskhelia set the tone for PSG’s dominance with his early goal and his presence in the final third contributed to the team’s victory that led to an 8-2 aggregate win.

Unlike his substitute role in Paris, he got the nod to partner Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola in PSG’s starting XI which led to high-intensity attacking pressure on Chelsea.

Kvaratskhelia continued his fine scoring streak from where he left off with a quick-fire brace in the closing stages of the first leg a week ago, by grabbing the early goal to put Luis Enrique’s men in front in the sixth minute at Stamford Bridge.

At the end of Tuesday’s game, Kvaratskhelia was deservedly honoured for his impact by claiming the UEFA Champions League Man of the Match in London, but fans have taken to social media to describe him as Chelsea’s tormentor.

The former Napoli winger was in action for 74 minutes and before his substitution, he registered the second-most shots (2) after Barcola, the joint-most touches in the Chelsea box (6), the most duels completed by any PSG player (14).

Kvaratskhelia’s fine form comes at a crucial stage of the season for PSG as they chase the double of the French Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League this season.

The 25-year-old forward has a contribution of 11 goals and seven assists in 32 matches across the two competitions so far, with PSG sitting atop the Ligue 1 table and in the Champions League final eight.
