Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has expressed his delight over the form of Fabian Ruiz since his return from injury.
The Spanish midfielder had been out since January with a knee injury, but returned to action against Olympique Lyon on April 19 and has featured in every match, including the UEFA Champions League semi-finals against Bayern Munich.
Enrique now wants to keep him in the best shape, fitness wise, especially with the Champions League final against Arsenal on the horizon.
“Fabian is a unique player. He’s sometimes the complete opposite of what you might expect. He may seem slow, yet mentally he’s the player who reacts the quickest. He’s a player I really like,” the former Barcelona coach said.
“What he brings to the team is the technical and physical ability to show exactly what needs to be done, both on and off the ball.
“After three months out of action, he showed just how valuable he is as soon as he returned. I’m very happy to have him back, and we need to manage his minutes carefully, because he’s played a lot in recent matches.”
