Bradley Barcola Set To Replace Desire Doue For France Against Iraq

Bradley Barcola is reportedly in line to replace Paris Saint-Germain teammate Desire Doue when France face Iraq in their second 2026 FIFA World Cup group game today.

The PSG winger has been named as one of the changes Didier Deschamps is expected to make, with Get French Football News reporting L’Equipe’s France team update ahead of the fixture. The report says Doue struggled to impose himself in France’s opening win over Senegal, opening the door for Barcola to bring more direct running from the left.

Barcola selection call matters for PSG

For PSG, this is more than a France rotation note. Barcola and Doue are both part of Luis Enrique’s attacking group, and their World Cup minutes will shape how they return to Paris after a demanding season.

Barcola has already given France an impact in the tournament, while Doue’s place now appears under immediate pressure. If Deschamps turns to Barcola against Iraq, it would underline how quickly the 23-year-old can change the rhythm of a front line when France need width, speed and cleaner final-third decisions.

The decision is expected to be confirmed before kick-off, but the PSG angle is already clear: one Paris forward may be about to gain a major international opening at another’s expense.
