PSG manager Luis Enrique said his his team is ready to turn ‘difficult’ Anfield atmosphere to a source of motivation when they face Liverpool on Tuesday.

The Rogue et Bleu are looking to advance into the UEFA Champions League semi-final after securing a 2-0 advantage in the first-leg of the quarter-final last Wednesday.

Goals from Desire Doue and Khivcha Kvaratskhelia got the job done for the Parisians at the Parc but Enrique still believes that the encounter is far from over at Anfield.

He said: “We’ve played the first match, now we have to play the second. We know how difficult this game will be against a team of Liverpool’s level, away from home, in this competition.

“It will be difficult, that’s clear to us, and we know there will be moments of hardship. I think tomorrow will be a very tight match, and we’ll need to be ready to overcome those difficult moments.

“It’s true that when you play at home with your supporters, it’s much better.

“You’re stronger, because there’s that connection between the players and the crowd.

“We know how difficult it is to play here at Anfield, but it’s also a source of motivation for us.”

Enrique insists on the same mentality

In 2025, PSG overturned a 1-0 deficit from Paris to beat Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield and bag victory in the penalty shoot-out on their way to the triumphant campaign.

Despite having a two-goal lead this year, Enrique maintained that his team will have the same mindset to win as they did at Anfield last season.

“What matters to me is the ability we’ve shown to overcome difficulties,” he added.

“I think that’s a very clear quality we have.

“We have the same mindset as last year coming here, when we had to win the second leg because we lost the first leg.”
