Injured Mayulu sidelined for weeks after Nice game

Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed that Senny Mayulu will be out of action for at least two weeks due to a calf injury. 

The 19-year-old suffered a knock during the Parisians’ 4-0 thrashing of OGC Nice last Saturday and further medical examination has confirmed the extent of the injury.

Mayulu was injured just after Nuno Mendes opened the scoring for PSG in thr 42nd minute at the Allianz Riviera and he was replaced by Lucas Beraldo.

The club statement read: “After suffering an injury to his right calf during yesterday’s match against Nice, Senny Mayulu will undergo treatment for the next two weeks.”

How has Mayulu fared this season 

The French youth international has fought his way into Luis Enrique’s plan this season, playing crucial games with key contributions. 

In the Ligue 1 this campaign, Mayulu has made 19 qppearances with three goals and four assists to his name. 

His impact continues in the UEFA Champions League where he grabbed a goal against Barcelona and most recently at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea. 

His unrelenting pace as a box-to-box midfielder and ball-winning skills have boosted PSG’s midfield this season. 

What games will Mayulu miss 

The 19-year-old midfielder is expected to miss PSG’s home game against Toulouse in the French Ligue 1. 

However, he faces a race against time to be fit for the Champions League match against Liverpool at Parc des Princes on April 8. 

The Parisians are also scheduled to face RC Lens in a top-of-the-table clash on April 11 before travelling to Anfield for the return leg of their Champions League match against Liverpool on 14.
