It is with a particularly depleted squad that Angers SCO are set to host Paris Saint-Germain this Saturday, with the two teams facing off in the 31st round of Ligue 1.
“This weekend, barring a very pleasant surprise – and that’s going to happen very quickly – I’d be surprised if I could get any of them (his players) back,” lamented Alexandre Dujeux, the Angers manager, at a press conference.
Already without Carlens Arcus (29), Yassin Belkhdim (24), Marius Courcoul (19), Harouna Djibirin (19) and Oumar Pona (19), SCO are set to face PSG having also lost Marius Louër (19) and Ousmane Camara (23), who have sustained thigh and tendon injuries respectively.
A difficult situation for Dujeux, who may therefore opt to start the experienced defender Abdoulaye Bamba (35) for the second time this season. After hosting PSG, Angers, 13th in the Ligue 1 table with a nine-point cushion above the relegation zone, will travel to face Auxerre, the play-off contenders, before welcoming RC Strasbourg-Alsace to the Raymond-Kopa Stadium, ending their 2025-26 season in Brittany against Stade Brestois.
