Olympique Lyonnais supporters have been banned from accessing the Parc des Princes for Sunday’s Ligue 1 game against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Paris Police Prefecture announced that decision was made as a result of the very strong historical dispute between PSG and Lyon fans.

Consequently, Lyon supporters are not expected to be around public areas in the city of Paris and the municipality of Boulogne-Billancourt between 17h on April 19 until 1h on April 20.

The statement read: “Considering that there are serious risks that the match on Sunday, April 19, will be an opportunity, before and after the match, for clashes and violent incidents between determined and virulent Parisian supporters and their Lyon counterparts.

“An order prohibits any person claiming to be a supporter of the Olympique Lyonnais team or behaving as such, from accessing the Parc des Princes and from circulating or parking on public roads, within the territory of the City of Paris and the municipality of Boulogne-Billancourt in a large area.

“And this is from April 19th at 5pm until April 20th, 2026 at 1am.”

The Lille incident between PSG & Lyon fans

In May 2024, PSG and Lyon supporters had a violent clash on the A1 motorway in Arras on their way to the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium in Lille for the French Cup final.

It was indeed a violent clash with over 30 people injured, a completely destroyed toll plaza and one of the buses carrying Lyon fans was set ablaze.

However, the case was closed this year with no party/individual charged.
