# Achraf Hakimi Questions Neutrality After PSG’s Super Cup Defeat

**Achraf Hakimi** has suggested Paris Saint-Germain lost the Trophée des Champions to forces outside their control. Goal reported on Sunday night that the defender [criticised a lack of neutrality](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi6AFBVV95cUxNNERrWHppQmx4ejRSbmJGbkJBejRBREU1U0lrWEpQU3hyckJMWjhHbzV5Y3VhRXAtbVh1dlFYVjRFSjRzdjBhZTM0SWU4VHZxTDE4dlg5T0xlcWxsek80SEg1WlNyaEh4cWVrS0xQV01obzRqa0R3Ty05RUhMTk8tMzZJR3ZTeFRnWDdGd0FsVXdleW40R01aT1cwMjM3R3lYM1JJLTRidzJnYXZkLWtnN0EzQmI1T2tRdUZXd1RETWRuVGNWenVZLVE0czVzcUI1YjIzbG52N3Q3Y1dubGc0UDY1WnFBNjVD?oc=5) around the final, which RC Lens won 1-0. beIN Sports reported that [Florian Thauvin scored the only goal](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi4gFBVV95cUxQeG5XcXZGb1JCZzNFQklLUHc5d1NlQ0NySXFpM2RJVnpSYjBQSThwcVByenlzbzRqNHJZdjRDbXB5bllRZmNudTRRdFlNMTNNdmxzdGFsV093ZlgwbUFUbDBYdWMwMzdpRmJ2OGlBZUVjdmNKMnE2Zms4bVdyWHIwVmU2ektxNU1TbjQ2bU0tTnlBUmFTNmRmc1hGSlN2bHpUZkR0dHQzR3Z3TjFCa1piYW02SU9jQldoN2hxN0RDekFud3pHNXM0bTB0a3R2cmJDSElzQ1h3LXZtZDRyZGl2S2hB?oc=5). Lens lifted the French Super Cup for the first time.

## What Achraf Hakimi said after the final

Goal carried Hakimi’s verdict that the Super Cup had been lost to circumstances beyond Paris’s control, with the Morocco international questioning how even-handed the occasion had been. The same outlet reports that the LFP, which stages the fixture, is now [facing fierce criticism](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMixwFBVV95cUxOY2stemp2cXptVmJPLXpvTlliaTNfT25GYkFFQmpVaVpkLXhGZWZTNGRSSTdMNEllWEV3UUN4MVpnNlUwR3R3R0p0bkg0d19ESUhyYW1RX0VJb1dLVl9LOTl6eHBDckRXR0E3WWtFaHZWekJVenc2ZFBkQjY0V3dXbFMxdmRvem5iOF9DSUhMbXJ6WENYd3UzaTdNMmo1M3VQSEZMWkluUi0zeUFGWnVEYTVUcGRGTWo1cVp4YjRlNElUd1VxQVg4?oc=5) over a final it describes as controversial. Paris have not lodged any formal complaint that has been reported.

## A night that turned on a red card

Whatever the officiating, this was a chastening evening for the holders. Flashscore reported that Lens spent a stretch of the night down to ten men and held on regardless, while Goal reported that Nuno Mendes was [shown a red card for misconduct](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMi9wFBVV95cUxOQzY2ak1Fa3ZTa2h2a19KbmFQWTlJRGZ5eHFtVVBYb2ZXTWk4dk1fenJNU2thVFhYVFA4aTdRY3lZRWZEVjJ4M25XYUxwdEVUajVGOURaT2otSncycm1NS2E2UXpsaWpsM091QmN6ZlROWXpOVlRDak9nTkhQd3FUMDU1djNQV2gwenU5aVdEa05WemljVV9WbEFUazZzaTM0bWdMWlF6S3FyQUROTTdMYVB2cGozZkhVQWVRSGlSS3k2RlprbGx1LUtVS0V2ajdHdU9tNFlaZFFhLXNsM09abG83bUZJWU1Na0xqbUpzRnJxcWtLUEtN?oc=5). Chosun reported that the defeat ended a four-year run of Super Cup wins for Paris.

Luis Enrique was without two forwards, too. [This Is Anfield reported](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMinAFBVV95cUxPMWJYUDFRTmFZLWtIcnE1T1dRSDlzXzJNQzFEV3hwUGFBeFo2c0NWYS1QWi0yQ3VBR01OcllSWW9VLTJLdW9TbzZTYklPb1I3LUNXNERneUl0MFppOTJkaWtKWVF5VDBzZDc2N0NweFFOVzBWOGl4V0tVUTNHckhRYnZOQ2xSNXBBRElsZm5UeS1STTBjc0tNamFaNmI?oc=5) that Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye were [left out of the squad amid Liverpool interest](https://readpsg.com/news/barcola-mbaye-psg-200m-liverpool/), with talks between the clubs still live. Neither absence decides a final on its own, but a matchday squad two attackers light tells its own story.

Paris will get their reply on the pitch soon enough. The club published its first-team media schedule for 17 to 23 August on Monday, and with [the season ahead](https://readpsg.com/news/psg-season-preview-2026-27/) to be navigated, Les Parisiens have little time to sit with a grudge.
